For the last few years, during World Breastfeeding Week (the first week of August) the Central Lakes Breastfeeding Trust has had their annual Wanaka fundraising event.
This year it will be held on the 1st August at 2pm at Edgewater Hotel.
The event is based around a fundraising raffle but always turns out to be a wonderful, social gathering of families.
The Fundraising event is supported by the Edgewater Hotel as they provide a beautiful space for it to be held and WellSouth who contribute towards an afternoon tea.
Families enjoy coming along to socialise with friends but also to catch up with breastfeeding peer supporters, Midwives, Lactation Consultants that may have supported them on their breastfeeding journey.
Jo Guest, CLBCT member is the lead organiser for the event. “I was concerned that it would be really difficult for local businesses this year to offer raffle prizes post COVID 19 but I have been humbled by the generosity in this town.”
